Pooley Bridge is a lovely village right on the edge of Lake Ullswater.

The site we are staying on has direct access to Lake Ullswater and we were able to catch the boat from Ullswater Steamers from Pooley Bridge to Glenderrig.  The views are spectacular and the hour-long journey from one end of the lake to the other is very relaxing and quiet.

The lake is popular for watersports including wild water swimming!

We stopped in Glenderrig for lunch and took a wander around the village.
