Woburn Safari

Visiting Woburn and wandering around seeing the animals in this captive breeding programme is really enjoyable, however, going on your own personalised Safari, well that is a lifetime experience.

Our guide took us into the enclosures to see the animals up close and explained their names and where they had come from.  She also told us about their natural habitat and how many animals of each type were still living wild in various countries.  Luckily for us she was very knowledgeable about all the animals.

Jen joined us for our trip to Woburn and she and Steve fed the Giraffes with bamboo as they leaned into the jeep to get their tasty treats.

It is strange being next to big cats, like lions, which looked so placid as they lay in the grass resting and realizing that they can run so fast and that if you were walking in the enclosure and they were hungry you could easily become lunch.

This experience will stay with us all for the rest of our lives and it would take a lot to beat it.  We could have flown thousands of miles and not been so lucky to see so many animals close up.
